The Role

JOB TITLE: Retail Assistant Store Manager

LOCATION: Birmingham City Centre

HOURS OF WORK: The store is open 7 days a week. Weekend work will be required.

FIXED CONTRACT: November 2021–August 2022

Summer 2022 will see a fantastic celebration of sport and culture when the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the largest event ever held in the West Midlands, takes place. We are looking for a Retail Assistant Store Manager to join us as we work to help make this event a huge success.

What we are seeking is an enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to help manage the day-to-day operations of our store. This involves coordinating staff and ensuring our customers have an excellent shopping experience. You will provide the Store Manager with the help they require to keep the store in top running order, from inventory and processing sales to generating cash reports and responding to customer concerns and complaints.

  • Train and manage other team members & assist the Store Manager
  • Maintain and monitor store inventory and shop floor product levels
  • Ensure that the store is clean, safe, and presentable for customers
  • Greet and assist customers as necessary when other sales assistants are busy
  • Process sales when necessary
  • Generate and review daily sales report
  • Cash banking & reconciliation when needed


Skills Required

  • Previous retail and management experience required
  • Strong customer service experience with the ability to educate others
  • Ability of assisting a team of up to 20 people
  • Knowledge of front of house restocking and visual merchandising
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate a team
  • Good organisation skills & time management
  • Cash banking experience
