The Role

JOB TITLE: Head of Operations

REPORTING TO: Managing Director, Cube Management

LOCATION: Cube HQ in Worcester

WORKING WEEK: Typically, Mon – Fri based on 40hr working week, may be a requirement to work weekends during busy periods

Your role as Head of Operations will be to working closely with multiple business functions to ensure that fulfilment/installation of all projects are delivered on time, compliantly and to the highest standards.

You will be responsible for the operation of a new state of the art warehousing facility leading a team of warehouse staff and installation technicians.

  • Work hand-in-hand with the project team to create a mutual understanding of the project strategy based on the requirement of the job
  • Conduct in-depth reviews and analysis of all project or contract documents so as to be familiar with every detail and/or requirements 
  • Help project managers and installers in the arrangement and analysis of projects and scheduling of reports on projects 
  • Leading the operations team of Warehouse, Logistics and Supply Chain to deliver to our customer 
  • Oversee projects as they are being carried out to make sure that the work is done according to outlined specifications, and that they also conform with project timetable 
  • Convey project needs from the project manager to the management of the firm. For example, in a case whereby extra funds are needed for the completion of a project, the project manager communicates the situation to the management of the company usually through the Head of Operations
  • Assist in the maintenance, development, and enhancement of the company’s relationship with contractors in a bid to produce strategic partnerships
  • Train and mentor employees in areas of project management and estimating
  • Excellent communication required at all times, including meeting regularly with the Managing Director to ensure the project is compliant to the highest standard
  • Liaise with Senior Leadership Team to evaluate all aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
  • Ensure operations meet the company’s requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies, and general duty of care. 


  • Able to demonstrate the ability to undertake the above responsibilities
  • Good analytical and organisational abilities are of great importance
  • Possess good leadership ability, as well as ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications
  • Ability to be proactive and to foresee events and react appropriately towards them
  • Ability to work and carry out projects within a stipulated time frame or deadline
  • Relevant on-the-job experience in a similar role or in any other construction capacity.


  • Substantial experience as Head of Operations, Operations Manager/Director or similar leadership role
  • Experience leading businesses through substantial growth
  • A professional with gravitas who will work closely with the team to develop and accomplish key objectives and deliver against the business strategy
  • Demonstrable experience of driving operational change management to evolve and advance systems and processes
  • Experience with identifying and implementing warehouse and logistics systems/automation
  • An understanding of building regulations and current health & safety legislation
  • Familiarity with all business functions including HR, Finance and IT
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational and leadership ability
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
